Antonio
Catellani
was born in 1937 in Parma, where he currently lives and works.
He became a professional photographer in 1957. His interests have
varied over the past twenty years, and he has taught music and
presently works in the insurance profession. He recommenced making
photographs primarily for his own personal satisfaction. He organized a
photo club with a group of friends, and then on his own founded the
Galleria della Coppa d’Ora, the first permanent exhibition space in
Parma. In response to the need to bring diversity to exhibitions in
other spaces as well, he and photographers Franco Piccoli and Vanni
Murelli established Camera Works, an association that has distinguished
itself on a national level since 1996. In recent
years he has participated in more than forty solo and group
shows in Italy and Europe. In 1998 he published the book Ritratti in
posa, and in 2000 he founded the Biblioteca dell’Immagine/Fototeca. |
